HOW THE INSTITUTION IS PLANNED
How the commitment grows
From the first patient commitments to the ability to act.
The mission
Our goal is to bring people back or carry their existence forward by a suitable future method. Revival is the central ambition. Longer life, a new form of embodiment, a way to reach another time or a method we cannot yet imagine may also apply. The method must be real, suitable for the person and consistent with their wishes.
Phase 0 · Foundation: Make the commitment real.
Form the institution, establish patient agreements and records, accept the first participants, and build the systems and resources that let the work continue beyond any one person. An accepted contribution and separate patient acceptance establish the initial patient mandate.
Phase 1 · Capacity: Grow what the mission needs.
Build the team and durable resources. Support research, build partnerships, and develop the ability to evaluate possible methods and serve patients over a long time.
Phase 2 · Access: Find or create a way forward.
Fund research, develop or license methods, acquire capabilities, purchase suitable services, invest institutional resources and seek lawful policy changes where needed. These activities may begin earlier and continue throughout the mission.
Phase 3 · Delivery: Act for each patient.
When a suitable method exists, applies to a patient, accords with their wishes and is sufficiently funded, arrange and provide it. The institution is intended to keep working until its accepted patient commitments are fulfilled.
One mission, overlapping work
The phases describe what the institution needs to become, not dates or isolated departments. Research can start while the organization is being formed. A useful service may be obtained from another provider before an in-house technology exists. Each accepted patient commitment should remain recorded as the institution grows.
A commitment meant to endure
Patient wishes, contribution records, responsible successors and protected goals are meant to outlive the founding team. The mechanisms for that endurance are being built. We cannot promise a method, a date, institutional survival or a successful outcome today.
