HOW THE INSTITUTION IS PLANNED

What would future revival require?

Revival, recoverable information, patient wishes and resources all matter.

Revival as the central goal

Keep Existing is built around the ambition of revival. A future technique would have to apply to a particular person, respect that person’s wishes and be supported by sufficient resources. We have no revival procedure to offer now.

Use whatever works for the patient

Our intended commitment is not tied to one machine or one scientific field. We will examine radical longevity, preservation and later revival, transfer into a new embodiment, machine integration, literal future travel and methods beyond today’s ideas. If a method becomes real, applies to a patient, respects their wishes and is sufficiently funded, the institution intends to obtain and use it for them. Naming a possibility does not establish that it works or continues the same person.

The identity question matters

A system with someone’s memories or mannerisms might be a record, an imitation or a copy. We cannot assume it continues that person’s experience. Evidence and the patient’s recorded preferences must guide any future decision.

Develop, obtain and advocate

The institution intends to fund useful research, develop or license methods, acquire capabilities, purchase suitable services and pursue lawful changes needed to make a valid route accessible. Its research interests can span longevity, medicine, biology, physics, electronics and other fields relevant to the mission. These are intended activities, not claims of existing programs or partners.

What a future decision requires

What evidence supports the method? What information or material does it need? Does it apply to this patient and meet their wishes? Can the institution obtain it, and are sufficient resources available? The answers determine whether an intervention can actually be offered.
